Lizards and Snakes: Alive Exhibit

September 28, 2007Its Fall and just like Fall’s annual return so do the art festivals. I love spending the day strolling amongst the booths and taking in all the creative works of art. It always gets me wishing that I had more artistic talent, because even my stick people drawings do not look very good. Two of my favorite art festivals are coming up in October. Check your schedule maybe you can fit one of them in. I don’t think you will be disappointed. Besides if you do not find anything that you just must have there is always great festival food to enjoy.
The Market Street Fine Arts Show in Central Park in the Woodlands is scheduled for October 6th from 10 am to 7 pm. The Festival will feature local artists selling their works of art including painting, photography, mural, metal-works sculpture, digital art, and mixed media. The event will also have live music and children’s art activities.
The Bayou City Art Festival Downtown in Downtown Houston is scheduled for October 13 and 14 from 10 am to 6 pm. The Festival is ranked in the Top 50 of Sunshine Art Magazine’s 200 Best Art Festivals in the U.S. It showcases the works of 300 fine artists working in 19 artistic media formats. Adding to the festivities are an interactive Creative Zone for children, and a performing arts stage with on-going multicultural musical and dance entertainment. The festival will be held in front of City Hall and around Hermann Square. Both art festivals are a pleasant drive from Spring TX.
