November 16, 2012Festivals, ice skating, carolers, holiday light displays, theater performances, and carriage rides are all things that help to make the holidays a special time of year.
Here’s a list of the holiday events planned for the Woodlands and Spring Texas for 2012. So get out your calendars and start planning to attend your favorite events.
Tree lightings, festivals, ice skating:
Lighting of the Tree in Market Street – 6 – 7:30 pm on November 15th the lights on the 70 foot tree in the Market Street at the Woodlands will be flipped on. Get ready to clap and admire its beauty. Carriage rides will be available from 6 – 9 pm for a fee of $15 per adult couple. Every night during the holidays, Market Street will sparkle with four light shows starting at 6:30 pm.
30th Annual Lighting of the Doves and 6th Annual International Winter on the Waterway – Kick off the 2012 holiday season at the Woodlands Waterway and Town Green Park on November 17th from 3 to 9 pm. Enjoy live music, ice carvers, fireworks, food, art & crafts, and the arrival of Santa. FREE event.
Ice Rink at the Woodlands Town Center – Located at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive, the Ice Rink is open daily from November 17th through January 21, 2013. Monday – Friday it is $9.50 for a 2 hour skate session and on Saturday – Sunday it is $10.50 for a 2 hour skate session. Click here for a $2 off admission to the Ice Rink.
Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland – Located at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive, the illuminated holiday scenes are FREE to view and open daily from dusk until 11 pm from November 17th – January 21st, 2013.
32nd Annual Home for the Holidays in Old Town Spring – tree lighting ceremony is at dusk on November 17th. Over 150 shops are decorated and ready to help you celebrate the holidays. Get a picture taken with Santa and give him your wish list. Celebration runs from November 17th – December 23rd.
Pick out a tree:
Old Time Christmas Tree Farm – Make an outing of choosing and cutting your own Christmas tree at the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm located at 7632 Spring Cypress Spring Texas 77379. They are open daily from 9 am to 6 pm beginning November 23rd.
Performances:
It’s a Wonderful Life – Back for another year, the Texas Repertory Theatre performs a Christmas classic. Opening night is November 28th with performances running through December 23rd. Ticket prices are $35 plus a service fee.
Holly Jolly Symphony Spectacular – Enjoy the sounds of the season as performed by the Houston Symphony at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on December 7th at 7:30 pm. Orchestra seating is $15 while Mezzanine & Lawn seating is FREE.
WindSync “in Wonderland” – Enjoy music and choreography from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and sing along to holiday favorites on December 8th at 10 am at The Centrum at 6823 Cypresswood.
Breakfast with Santa:
Willowbrook Mall – celebrate Santa’s arrival and have breakfast too on November 10th from 8:30 to 10 am at the food court.
Woodlands Mall – Get your ticket to a morning of holiday fun of singing, dancing, and a visit by Santa by emailing [email protected]. FREE event but you are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots. Breakfast with Santa will be held on November 17th from 9 to 11 am at the court near JC Penney.
