Thursdays FREE at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

The saying goes that nothing in life is FREE but here is one thing that truly is FREE. Every Thursday, thanks to a gift from the Shell Oil Foundation, admission to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is FREE.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s two main buildings of the Caroline Wiess Law Building and the The Audrey Jones Beck Building both enjoy free admission on Thursdays. The Caroline Wiess Law Building is the museum’s original building. It houses Oceanic, Asian, and pre-Columbian art and temporary exhibits. The Audrey Jones Beck Building opened in March 2000 and it houses European art, Impressionist and Post-impressionist paintings. The Law and Beck buildings are joined on the lower via a tunnel that showcases James Turrell’s The Light Inside.

So if you have never been or you just have not gone in a while here is a great opportunity to enjoy these wonderful museums for FREE. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is located south of downtown Houston in the area that is known as the Museum district, just a short 45 minute drive from Spring TX. Its physical address is 1001 Bissonnet. You will find sufficient free parking around the museum.
