May 28, 2009The Crape Myrtle, designated the official State shrub of Texas in 1997, is in bloom!! Crape Myrtles bloom from early May to late October and range in color from white to pink to red to purple to lavender. You will find numerous Crape Myrtles dotting the Spring Texas landscape. They are extremely popular due to the summer long color they provide and their easy care. Even amateur gardeners, such as myself, have been able to keep them alive and growing.
