Spring’s here and it’s time to get outside and enjoy the cool temperatures and low humidity. After you have freshened up your yard, it’s time to reward yourself with a little rest and relaxation and maybe a mudbug or two by attending a festival.
Below is a run down of the numerous Spring Festivals and Events being held in the Spring Texas area this year (2013):
APRIL:
Crawfish & Music Festival on April 19 – 21 and April 26 – 28 in Old Town Spring. One of the largest and longest running festivals in the Houston area, the 27th Annual Texas Crawfish and Music Festival takes over Old Town Spring. Enjoy some of the tastiest mudbugs while jamming to the music of Robert Earl Keen, Los Lonely Boys, Jack Ingram, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, and many more artists. Hours: 5 pm to midnight on Fridays. 11 am to midnight on Saturdays and 11 am to 10 pm on Sundays. Cost: $14 at the gate with parking running $10.
Spring Concert Series returns April 18th and continues every Thursday through June 6th on Market Street in the Woodlands. Music ranging from Jazz to Blues to Classic tunes. Hours: 6 pm to 9 pm. Cost: $0
MAY:
Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival in Downtown Tomball on May 4 – 5. Spicy Cajun food. Live music noon to 6 pm both days. Contest to find out who can eat the most boudin balls and hushpuppies? Hours: 11 am to 6 pm both days. Cost: – $0
Spring Fine Arts Festival on May 4 at Market Street in the Woodlands. Find inspiration at a local art display consisting of paintings, photography, sculptures, and metal works. Rain date of May 11th. Hours: 10 am to 7 pm. Cost: – $0.
Chili Challenge on May 25th at the Depot in Downtown Tomball. Festival, food, chili-of course and classic rock and funk performed by the Grateful Geezers. Hours: 10 am – 5 pm. Cost: $0
Memorial Day Weekend Celebration on May 25 – 26 at Waterway Square in the Woodlands. Bring the entire family event at Waterway Square. Face painters, balloon artist, strolling performers, food, and drinks. Live music – country, rock, and variety. Hours: 6 pm to 9 pm with a fireworks display beginning at 8:55 pm each evening. Cost: – $0
